saturday's child
Sunday, Nov 03 2002 07:34AM

Last weekend's excitement plus Monday's score at Ikea equalled one thing: I must spend Saturday cleaning and assembling furniture. I thought if I gave myself the whole day from dawn til the wee hours of the next morn I might be able to squeeze out at least an hour's worth of honest work. As I said to K-dub on AIM, during one of my many breaks, in order to get anything done lately I have to get on my own case like a mom. "You can take a lunch break now, but then you have to clean one thing." Or, "If you put away all the clothes, you can watch the rest of About Last Night...". But the problem is I don't even listen to orders from my own self. I have an rebellious brat of an inner child.

Somehow I did manage to accomplish a few major tasks, in between all the Lifetime movie watching and IM'ing. I'm having a party in three weeks so I do have an actual deadline by which I have to get the ship in shape. The cleaning is much more under control now, but I will probably have to call in reinforcements for the furniture assembly. I am still kind of afraid of the new drill and though that embarrasses me to my core (some independent woman I turned out to be, I'm not fit to throw my hands up at Beyonce) I'd rather ask for some help than accidentally tear myself a new one, literally.
