"Keep in mind, this is a woman who learned to walk years before the commercial availability of VCRs."
But that's alright, that's OK, I got my baseball pass today! Yessirree, part of what is making me so happy these days is this amazing MLB perk: we all get these passes for free entry to any ballpark for any regular season game for us plus one guest. I am so popular right now. Boys dig free baseball, awww yeah. But my girl friends are as big or bigger sports fans than a lot of the guys I know so my first planned pass usage is for the the KC series with Ms Stacey. Since the Friday and Sunday games of that series both involve Blunt Object giveaways, and Ms. S will be rooting for Kansas, I've decreed we must go to the Saturday game. Free hats, like words, will never hurt us. Check out The Pass:

That is a beautiful thing. But where do you get to sit?
Posted by: cantelope on April 23, 2004 10:52 PMKinda anywhere. With guidelines. And it varies by stadium. I know from going with Ryan in years past that Yankees Stadium has you enter at the Press Gate and tells you to sit somewhere in the Main Reserve or higher, which is off 1st or 3rd and not bad, especially down near the rail. (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/nyy/ballpark/nyy_ballpark_seating.jsp) As I recall, they checked the pass and just let us in the stadium. It rocked.
But Ryan's also used the pass in Seattle and apparently there they treat you like a king and escort you to seats and all. And at Shea they're suspicious of the pass. I'll know more after May 1st when I give it a whirl.
Oh, and as for post-season, MLB buys a block and lets us buy tix from that. Last year Ryan also bought up all the extras his friends didn't want and so had 4-6 tix for every home game. I went to at least half, including the very last, very sad loss to the Marlins. Dang ol' Josh Beckett.
