We went up to jon and D's suburban compound for election night with the Nelsons and mr and mrs heathalouise. I was looking forward to excessive baby snuggling (yes, it's true, but little J is like a stunt baby who just rolls around smiling and laughing every time we're there. We swear she's drugged or swapped out for a robobaby before company comes around. Nice try, friends - I still don't want to catch baby!) and copious wine drinking but I came over all migrainey at work so I could only manage a few babyhead sniffs and a couple glasses of wine. I didn't even make it far enough to open the bottle of wedding rosé we brought along.

But it was a great time, greater still for the happy ending, although I don't know why California, Arizona, Florida and Arkansas had to go and take away the rights of their fellow human beings. I've only been married for two months (today!) but I feel it only makes my marriage stronger, the more examples of love and honor and commitment I witness all around me, friends or strangers, gay or straight, every day.

That's all I got right now, I'm happy and sad for us all.
